David Fazio David is the founder and president of Helix Opportunity, a business development and business-related disability services firm that facilitates inclusion through harmony at work. David was welcomed into the world of disability on August 2, 1996 when an aneurysm in his brain ruptured into a softball sized hemorrhagic stroke. When he woke from his coma he was completely paralyzed on the left side of his body, could not speak and could barely function. Since then, Mr. Fazio has regained his ability to walk and talk. He has graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Media Studies. Since his brain aneurysm, David has provided guidance to children with disabilities and their parents on how to achieve meaningful success. He has facilitated the recruitment of disabled employees through federal mentoring initiatives and represented employees in administrative hearings of disability discrimination before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
